QUEENS, N.Y. -- St. John's Men Golf Head Coach Mal Galletta has announced the remaining portion of the team's schedule for the 2016-17 season. The Johnnies will compete in seven tournaments this spring before closing out with the BIG EAST Tournament in Okatie, S.C., on April 30-May 2.
The Johnnies will play seven tournaments in seven different states beginning with the Loyola Intercollegiate for the second-straight season on Feb. 25-27 at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz.
"I am excited about the spring schedule. We have great trips to Arizona and Dallas to start our season," said Galletta.
Two weeks removed from the spring opener, St. John's will travel to Dallas, Texas on March 14-16 to participate in the Bob Sitton Invitational at the TPC Four Seasons.
"When we return from Dallas, we hope to have good weather in New York and have a good opportunity to be outside and get in a groove of practicing and playing in competitive tournaments so that we can take some momentum into the BIG EAST Championship," added Galletta.
St. John's will then travel to Malvern, Pa., to compete in conference foe Villanova's Wildcat Invitational on March 27-28 at the White Manor Country Club.
On April 15, St. John's will play in the one-day Yale Invitational held at the school's golf course in New Haven, Conn.
Two days later, the Johnnies will contend in the Rhode Island Invitational in North Kingstown, R.I., at the Quidnessett Country Club on April 17-18.
