St. John's Readies for the Yale Spring Invitational

QUEENS, N.Y. -- The St. John's men's golf team is back in action on Saturday as the Red Storm is set to compete in the one-day, 36-hole Yale Spring Invitational at The Course at Yale in New Haven, Conn.
In its last tournament, the Johnnies battled tough conditions that included an hour and a half rain delay and jumped six spots in the final round behind the lowest final round of the day, a 3-under 281, to close out the Wildcat Invitational tied for fourth place. Senior Sean Byrne and sophomore Seung Yub Baek both finished tied for sixth place to lead the Red Storm.
The invitational's field features 72 players, including Bucknell, Colgate, Cornell, Drexel, Fairfield, Fordham, George Washington, Penn, Siena, St. Francis, St. John's as well as the host Bulldogs.
Play will begin on Saturday morning at 7:20 AM and 7:30 AM off the first and tenth tees on the par-70, 6,749 yard course.
Last season at the Yale Invitational, St. John's finished eighth on a wind-plagued Saturday at the Course at Yale. Baek tied for 20th with an 11-over (151) to lead the Red Storm on the individual leaderboard.
