Joe Madsen Named Freshman of the Week

QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's star freshman Joe Madsen was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the second time in his young career, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The freshman attackman enjoyed a perfect shooting day, 5-for-5, in an 18-12 loss to No. 4/4 Denver this past Saturday, as he exploded for five goals in the contest.
On the year, Madsen leads the Red Storm with 18 goals and 23 points. He has also broken out for 10 goals in the last three games, and has shot 10-of-11 times on net in those games.
Next Saturday, April 22, St. John's will travel to Pennsylvania as the Johnnies get set to play in a BIG EAST showdown against Villanova at Villanova Stadium at 4 p.m.
