QUEENS, N.Y. ââ'¬" St. John's women's tennis freshman sensation Jessica Livianu earned a pair of distinctions from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Monday afternoon as she was named the ITA's Northeast Rookie of the Year and Player to Watch.
The ITA will announce its national winners on Tuesday, May 23rd.

The freshman has notched a number of program firsts during her short time with the Red Storm as Livianu has earned the program's first-ever invitation to the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in the fall.
Later this month, Livianu will become the program's first student-athlete to compete at the NCAA Division I Women's Singles Championship, which will be played in Athens, Ga.
