Sheck Wes to Headline Red Storm Tip-Off

Harlem native to perform at annual basketball event on Oct. 12
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's has announced that Harlem recording artist Sheck Wes will headline its annual Red Storm Tip-Off on Friday, Oct. 12, inside Carnesecca Arena. The 20-year-old will perform at the conclusion of the yearly celebration to mark the start of the college basketball season.
Best known for his hit song "Mo Bamba," which currently sits at no. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 and no. 26 in the publication's ranking of hip-hop and R&B songs, Sheck Wes is widely considered a rising star in the industry. Signed to Cactus Jack Records, Travis Scott's imprint through Interscope Records and G.O.O.D Music, Sheck Wes will be a part of the upcoming ASTROWORLD Tour in November and December. He released his debut studio album, MUDBOY, on Friday.
Tickets are free of charge for St. John's students and can be picked up at the Carnesecca Arena box office on Friday morning beginning at 9 a.m. Student season ticket holders can skip the line, as tickets will be sent directly to their mobile phones on Friday morning.
A limited number of tickets will be made available to alumni, Red White Club members, season ticket holders, faculty, and staff through the box office starting at 4 p.m. on Friday.
