The Johnnies will compete in the Lehigh Invitational followed by the Musketeer Classic
The St. John's men's golf team readies for back-to-back  tournaments, beginning with the Lehigh Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa., on Friday and Saturday before visiting Cincinnati for the Musketeer Classic on Monday and Tuesday.
Â
Gerald Mackedon will enter both tournaments as the team's number one golfer, while freshmen Tyler Gerbavsits and Jack Simon are slotted in the second and third positions. Seniors Austin Briggs and Ross Moore will round out the five-man lineup.
Â
The Red Storm saw success at the Lehigh Invitational last season, turning in a two-round 613, to finish in a tie for fourth place, for the team's best turnout of the 2017 fall slate.
Â
The 13-team field will consist of host school Lehigh along with St. John's, Bucknell, Colgate, Fairfield, Fordham, Hofstra, Holy Cross, Iona, Lafayette, Monmouth, Navy and Siena. The annual tournament features 36 holes of play with 18 on both Friday and Saturday. Tee times for Friday are set for 10:30 a.m. on the par-72, 7,091-yard course.
Â
Following play at Lehigh, the Johnnies will make a quick turnaround as they travel to Cincinnati for the Musketeer Classic. This will mark the Red Storm's first time competing in this event.
Â
The Musketeer Classic will be held at the Maketewah Country Club, a par-72 course that measures 6,809 yards. The two-day event will consist of 18 holes each day with an 8:30 a.m. start on Monday.
Â
The 16-team field will consist of host school Xavier, St. John's, Ball State, Bowling Green, Butler, DePaul, Indiana, IUPUI, La Salle, Miami, Morehead State, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Ohio State, West Virginia and Wright State.
Â
Following the team's two tournaments the Johnnies will close out the fall slate with a trip to Clifton, N.J., for The Metropolitan Intercollegiate on Oct. 28.
