Red Storm Concludes Play at Lehigh Invitational

Austin Briggs paced the field for the Red Storm at the two-day tournament
The St. John's men's golf team concluded play at the Lehigh Invitational on Saturday at the Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa., as the Red Storm placed 10th overall.
Leading the Johnnies in the two-day event was senior Austin Briggs. The San Clemente, Calif., native shot a 75 and 78 over two rounds, to turn in a combined 153 and finish in a tie for 18th place. Over the senior's final 18 holes, he registered a total 11 pars as well as a pair of birdies on the inward nine.
Junior Gerald Mackedon and freshman Jack Simon each turned in two-round totals of 156 to finish in the top half of the standings. Senior Ross Moore and freshman Tyler Gerbavsits each posted a 157 over 36 holes to round out scoring for the Red Storm.
Iona earned the team title, carding a combined six-over 605. Owen Quinn of Lehigh University claimed medalist honors, carding a 68 and 75 over 36 holes for a combined score of one-under 143.
The Johnnies will make a quick turnaround as they travel to Cincinnati for the Musketeer Classic on Monday, Oct. 22.
