Johnnies earn one point in the conference standings for the second-straight game

For the second time in as many games, the St. John's men's soccer team earned one point in the conference standings, playing Villanova to a 1-1 draw on the road Wednesday afternoon at Higgins Soccer Complex.

Tani Oluwaseyi opened up the scoring in the 51st minute, outrunning his defender down the right side before finishing to the bottom left corner of the cage. The goal marked the fourth of the season for the freshman, moving him within one of teammate Skage Simonsen for the league lead among rookies.

Yusuf Cueceoglu answered less than four minutes later for Villanova (6-7-2, 1-5-1) tying the game at one.

Lenny Wilson stopped a season-high eight shots between the pipes for St. John's (6-6-3, 2-2-3).

The Red Storm struck first for the third time in its last four games, but once again was unable to come away with the win.

The Wildcats outshot the Johnnies 21-15 on the game and earned nine corners to the Red Storm's three.

The Johnnies will complete their final road trip of the regular season on Saturday, traveling to Georgetown for a 1 p.m. showdown with the Hoyas.
