St. John’s Men's Golf Readies for Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championship

The Johnnies will tee off at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday
The St. John's men's golf team readies for their final event of the fall slate as the team travels to Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, N.J., for the second annual Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championship on Oct. 28-29.
Play will get underway on Sunday with 18 holes beginning at 8:30 a.m. The final round will take place on Monday at 9 a.m. on the par-70 6,503-yard course.
The Johnnies starting five will consist of Gerald Mackedon, Austin Briggs, Tyler Gerbavsits, Ross Moore and Matthew Sweeney.
Jack Simon, Jonathan Spicci and Andrew Baek will all be competing individually.
The 15-team field will consist of host school Wagner along with St. John's, LIU-Brooklyn, Hofstra, St. Peters, Iona, Monmouth, Manhattan, Fairfield, Fairleigh Dickinson, Sacred Heart, Fordham, Niagara, St. Francis Brooklyn and BIG EAST foe Villanova.
Founded in 1893, the Montclair Golf Club is recognized as the 13th-oldest club in the nation and has long been regarded as one of New Jersey's top venues. In 2009, Montclair was recognized as a Platinum Club of America and one of the top 100 Country Clubs nationally.
All results will be posted to RedStormSports.com at the conclusion of each round.
