Red Storm to Compete in ECAC Championship to Close Season

Howard and Page to run last cross country meets as Johnnies.
The St John's cross country team will conclude the 2018 season on Saturday morning at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx for the ECAC Championships.
It will be a fitting end to a season that also started at Van Cortlandt at the Ed Joyce Fordham Fiasco, and the end of the careers of a few members of St. John's cross country.
"We are looking forward to closing out our season at the ECAC Championship," Head Coach Jim Hurt said. "Ant Howard will be competing for the last time for St. John's as she will be graduating in December and looks to complete one of the best cross country season in St. John's history. Senior Shannon Page will also be running her last cross country race."
Howard and Page have been consistent performers for St. John's this season. At the BIG EAST Championships on Oct. 27, Howard finished 19th to earn All-BIG EAST honors with a time of 21:37.8. Page, on the other hand, has competed in every competition for the Red Storm in her senior season, finishing with a time of 24:34.3 at the conference championship in Indianapolis.
Stephanie Gerland finished second for St. John's at that meet and sixth at the event last year.
"Stephanie Gerland has been looking great in practice and is ready to finish her season with a great race," Hurt said. "We hope to close out the cross country season with some of our best races of the year and build momentum toward the upcoming indoor track & field schedule."
The race will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
