St. John's Readies for Benbow Invitational

QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's women's golf team continues its 2018 spring slate in Jacksonville, Fla. on Monday for the Benbow Invitational hosted by BIG EAST foe Butler. This will be the Johnnies first time competing in the tournament in over 10 years.
The two-day, event will be played at the Blue Sky Country Club, with round one played on Monday and the final round on Tuesday. The first round of play will begin with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
The nine-team field will consist of Chicago State, The Citadel, Eastern Illinois, Lehigh, Monmouth, Quinnipiac, St. John's, Valparaiso University and host school Butler.
The Johnnies were last in action at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic, hosted by the College of Charleston, on Feb. 25-27, finishing 31st overall out of 43 teams.
After leading the Johnnies in their first outing of the spring, Linda Wang will enter this week's tournament as the team's number one golfer after carding a final round 79 to turn in a 225 over three rounds of play at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic.
Kaitleen Shee and Alejandra Sanchez are slotted in the second and third positions. Andrea Sanchez and Lydia Kim round out the lineup, respectively, with Sofie Huseby participateing in the individual portion of the tournament.
