Linda Wang Finishes First in Tri-Match

Junior leads Johnnies to first place finish at Hofstra Pride Invitational
Led by Linda Wang's four-under 68, the St. John's women's golf team finished in first at the Hofstra Pride Invitational on Thursday at the Eisenhower Park Red Course in East Meadow, N.Y.
Wang shot an even par on the front nine, draining her first birdie of the day on the par-5 third hole. The junior closed out play firing four birdies over the back nine to turn in a tournament-low 68 after 18 holes.
Junior Kaitleen Shee fired the second lowest score on the day behind Wang with a 73(+1) while senior Lydia Kim turned in a 79(+7).
Sophomore Andrea Sanchez and redshirt junior Sofie Huseby closed out scoring for St. John's, each posting an 81 (+9), respectively.
As a team, St. John's shot 301(+13) to beat out LIU Brooklyn (312) and Hofstra (314) in the tri-match.
The St. John's women's golf team will return to action on Sept. 24 when they travel to Canton, Mass. for the Boston College Intercollegiate.
