Linda Wang Earns Top-Five Finish at Boston College Intercollegiate

Two Johnnies finish inside the top-15 on Tuesday
St. John's had two golfers finish among the top-15 to lead the team to a 10th-place finish on Tuesday at the 2018 Boston College Intercollegiate at Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, Mass.
St. John's was led by Fresh Meadows native Linda Wang who finished the tournament tied for 4th overall with an 8-over 224 (76-72-76) for her second top-five finish in as many events this year. The junior's low-round 72 came on Monday when Wang opened up play with a par shot on the ninth hole before draining back-to-back birdies on the par-4 10th and 11th holes to finish round two at level par.
Junior Kaitleen Shee tied for 11th with an 11-over 227 (77-73-77) on the par 72, 6,137-yard layout. The Irvine, Calif., native saw her best performance come during the second round of the tournament, turning in a 1-over 73 highlighted by a bogey-free front nine.
Sophomore Andrea Sanchez finished in the top half of the standings after carding a 236 (78-81-77) to tie for 39th overall. Lydia Kim and Sofie Huseby rounded out scoring for the Red Storm registering a 253 and 279, respectively.
As a team, St. John's finished 10th overall turning in a three-round total of 940. Western Kentucky claimed the team title with a 911, bettering second place Boston College by three strokes.
