Men’s Tennis Ventures to Penn for ITA Northeast Regionals

Seven Johnnies are set to compete at ITA Northeast Regional Championships in Philadelphia.
QUEENS, N.Y. (Oct. 16, 2019) – The St. John's men's tennis squad, led by Head Coach Dillon Pottish, will compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Championships this weekend, hosted by Penn at the Hamlin and Hecht Tennis Center.
Seven Red Storm student-athletes are set to compete in the event, which serves as a qualifier for the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships in Newport Beach, Calif., in November.
St. John's is one of 33 representing schools in this weekend's competition. Institutions in the northeast region that are sending individuals to compete at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships include Army, Binghamton, Boston, Brown, Bryant, Buffalo, Colgate, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Drexel, Fairfield, Fairleigh Dickinson, Fordham, Harvard, Hofstra, La Salle, Lehigh, Marist, Merrimack, Monmouth, Niagara, NJIT, Penn, Princeton, Quinnipiac, Rider, Sacred Heart, St. Bonaventure, Temple, Wagner and Yale.
The first two days of action will feature singles and doubles qualifying, which will feed into a 128-player singles draw and a 64-team doubles bracket.
