Wang and Shee Pace Johnnies on Day One of Lehigh Invitational

The two seniors are in a three-way tie for second place following round one
Led by strong individual performances from Linda Wang and Kaitleen Shee, the St. John's women's golf team sits in second place after day one of the Lehigh Invitational.
Wang and Shee each carded a first round 75 to sit in a three-way tie for second place with Queenie Lai of Quinnipiac. The two seniors both drained a trio of birdies on the day, to lead the way for the Red Storm following the first 18 holes.
Competing as an individual, freshman Laia Barro joined Wang and Shee inside the top-five. The Makati City, Philippines, native turned in a 76 to place fifth overall in the standings.
Freshman Jill Beglin, who is also playing as an individual, turned in an 80 on the day to stand in a three-way tie for 16th place.
Junior Andrea Sanchez and freshman Cloe Clocchiatti turned in first-round scores of 81 and 82, respectively.
Sophomore Jessie Kweon rounded out scoring for the Red Storm with an 84 to tie for 25th.
St. John's sits just one shot back of Fairleigh Dickinson in first. The Knights' Victoria Schroedl leads the field after carding a first round even-par 72.
St. John's will begin its second round of action on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
