Jessie Kweon Finishes Fourth at Strutter Gus Invitational

Kweon carded a final-round 79 to finish in a two-way tie for fourth
Led by freshman Jessie Kweon, the St. John's women's golf team finished sixth overall at the Strutter Gus Invitational on Monday in Statesboro, Ga.
Leading the way for the Red Storm at the two-day event, Kweon drained a pair of birdies, posting a final-round 79. The Little Neck, N.Y., native turned in a combined 227 to finish in a two-way tie for fourth. Linda Wang also carded a 79 on the day to finish in a tie for 17th place.
Alejandra Sanchez saw her best performance come during the final round, as the Cancun native drained three-straight birdies on holes four, five and six. Sanchez capped of the final 18 with four birdies, shooting a 75 on the day to place in the top-25.
Andrea Sanchez rounded out scoring for the Johnnies with a final-round 85, while Lydia Kim, who was competing in as an individual, shot a 78 over the final 18.
Georgia Southern's Ansley Bowman sank a two-foot putt on the first playoff hole to win medalist honors and lift Georgia Southern to the team title at the Strutter Gus Invitational.
The Johnnies will return to action on April 8, when the team travels to Beallsville, Md. for the Hoya Invitational.
