Kajan, Madden and Boyd each registered a shot for the Red Storm
The St. John's women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to former BIG EAST rival Notre Dame on Sunday evening at Alumni Stadium.
The Irish (4-0) rolled past the Red Storm (1-3) with a 25-3 edge on shots including 14-0 advantage on goal.
Zsani Kajan, Alex Madden and Brooke Boyd all three registered a shot on the evening for the Red Storm, but saw their chances go off target.
The Johnnies tallied their first shot of the match in the 25th minute, as Kajan, the team's leading scorer, saw her attempt sail left.
Following a quiet start for both programs, the Irish finally snapped the scoreless tie in the 35th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Notre Dame's Camryn Dyke capitalized on a deflection inside the box, as she collected the ball before sending it to the upper corner of the cage. The Irish led by the same score after 45 minutes.
Just five minutes into the second half, Notre Dame extended its lead to 2-0 with a goal off the foot of Jenna Winebrenner. The Irish found the back of the net two more times over the remainder of the match, creating a four-goal advantage.
St. John's returns to action on Thursday night with a trip to Stony Brook. The Johnnies and the Seawolves are scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.
