Defending BIG EAST Champions Open Fall Season with Hofstra Invitational

Individuals from seven teams to compete this weekend in Hempstead, N.Y.
QUEENS, N.Y. (Sept. 19, 2019) – The St. John's men's tennis team will commence its fall season on Friday with the two-day Hofstra Invitational at the Hofstra University Outdoor Tennis Complex.
Teams participating in this week's tournament include host Hofstra, St. John's, Fairleigh Dickinson, Siena, St. Francis Brooklyn, Queens College and Adelphi.
Competition will begin each day at 9 a.m. The tournament will consist of four singles flights and two doubles flights with a consolation bracket in each. All singles and doubles matches will be flighted draws. Singles match format is two sets with a 10-point tie-break in lieu of a third set. The format for doubles play will be one, six-game pro set. Consolation matches will follow an eight-game pro set for singles and one set for doubles play.
Each of the singles and doubles draws features sixteen slots in a double elimination bracketed tournament. Complete brackets are available at the link above.
