Play is set to commence Thursday morning at 8 a.m. PT in Malibu, Calif.
QUEENS, N.Y. (Sept. 25, 2019) –  St. John's men's tennis junior Aditya Vashistha and women's tennis senior Jessica Livianu will compete in the singles main draw of the 2019 Oracle ITA Masters, starting Thursday at the Malibu Racquet Club and Pepperdine University campus in Malibu, Calif.

The Oracle ITA Masters has established itself as one of the premier events of the collegiate tennis season since its inception in 2015. The four-day tournament features singles draws of 32 for men and women, and a mixed doubles event with a 32-draw. Players are chosen based upon conference Players of the Year from the previous fall season.
Fourteenth-ranked Vashistha and will be making his first appearance at this event as a wildcard since Andrei Crapcenco, last year's BIG EAST Player of the Year, graduated last spring. The Bikaner, India native, will face San Diego's Gui Osorio in the opening round Thursday afternoon.

No. 9-ranked Livianu earned her bid to the event as she repeated as BIG EAST Player of the Year for the third-consecutive year. The junior will open her run against Oakland's Ava Thielman Thursday morning.
In 2017, Livianu became the first player from the conference to reach the quarterfinals of this tournament. Last season, the Brooklyn native, reached the consolation semifinals, posting a 2-2 record for the weekend.

Vashistha or Livianu could play up to five matches should they advance to the championship final on Sunday.
There will also be a consolation singles bracket and a mixed doubles draw in Malibu. In the mixed doubles draw, Vashistha will work alongside Livianu as the tournament's fourteenth seed. Mixed doubles matches will begin at 8 a.m. PT Thursday morning.
The men's and women's singles champions earn automatic entry into the 2019 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, which will be held November 6-10, in Newport Beach, Calif.
