Â
Leading the Red Storm offensively, Zsani Kajan has found the back of the net four times this season for St. John's. Samantha Masur, Alex Madden and Isabelle Aviza have also each recorded a goal for the Johnnies this year.
Â
In the Red Storm's most recent outing against Cornell, Kajan tallied a pair of goals to help lift St. John's to a 2-0 win over the Big Red. The effort marked Kajan's first multi-goal outing of the season and the fourth of her career. As a result, the Budapest, Hungary, native landed a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season.
Â
With two goals against Cornell, Kajan moved up to 10th on the all-time goals list with a career-total 17. She currently sits in a four-way tie with former Johnnies Kailin Schmidt, Holly Ryder and current assistant coach Jen Bethea.
Â
Providence enters play on Saturday with an overall record of 5-3-1, following back-to-back wins over Texas and Northeastern. After a pair of victories last week, two Friars garnered BIG EAST accolades on Monday. Elayna Grillakis, who has three goals on the season, earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while Shelby Hogan tabbed Goalkeeper of the Week.
Â
Hogan has helped the Friars to a 4-0-1 record in overtime contests and boasts the top save percentage in the conference (.878). Offensively, Hannah McNulty leads the Friars with four goals on the season.
Â
The two programs enter play on Saturday for the 35th all-time meeting, dating back to 1986, with Providence holding a one-game advantage, 16-15-3. The Johnnies and the Friars met twice last year at Belson Stadium, playing each other to a scoreless draw during the regular season. The Red Storm then fell to Providence in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Championship.
Â
Following Saturday's match against the Friars, the Red Storm returns home to host Seton Hall on Thursday, Oct. 3. The Johnnies and Pirates are scheduled for a 7 p.m. kick off.
