Leah Anderson Named BIG EAST Track Athlete of the Week

Anderson sits atop the conference leaderboard in the 60-meter dash
QUEENS, N.Y. (Jan. 24, 2020) – St. John's sprinter Leah Anderson has been recognized as the BIG EAST Track Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Penn 8-Team Select, it was announced by league officials on Friday afternoon.
Anderson set a new personal record in the 60-meter dash after earning the top spot on the podium with a time of 7.56. Anderson's mark puts her at first place in the BIG EAST this season and ranks within the top 100 in the nation.
The junior sprinter also captured a top 10 ECAC qualifying time with her performance.
Anderson returns to action this Saturday when the Johnnies enter day two of the Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge. The start time is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
