Joe Madsen Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

The senior registered a team-high seven points in Saturday’s loss at Michigan
QUEENS, N.Y. (March 4, 2020) – St. John's attackman Joe Madsen earned a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll, the conference announced on Wednesday. The senior received his recognition after recording a team-high three goals and four assists in Saturday's 16-11 loss at Michigan.
In Saturday's loss to the Wolverines, Madsen led the Johnnies with three goals and four assists, marking the fourth consecutive game a Red Storm player has finished with five or more points.
Through five games, the senior leads St. John's in scoring with 21 points (5th in BIG EAST) and is second on the team with 12 goals and 33 shots. Madsen's nine assists and 1.80 assist per game average ranks third in the conference.
This is the sixth-career BIG EAST weekly award for the Locust Valley, N.Y., native. The senior was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team last season after leading the Johnnies with 33 goals scored. Madsen scored at least one goal in all 14 games last season and finished second on the team with 40 points.
Madsen and the Johnnies return to action next Saturday, March 7, at DaSilva Memorial Field to host Siena at 1 p.m.
