The Johnnies and the Golden Eagles will kick off at 8 p.m. ET
The St. John's women's soccer team will look to secure three crucial BIG EAST points when the Johnnies travel to Milwaukee on Thursday evening for an 8 p.m. ET matchup with Marquette.
The contest between the Red Storm (6-4-2, 2-2-1 BIG EAST) and the Golden Eagles (7-6-0, 3-3-0 BIG EAST) will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports.
The Johnnies will look to snap a two-game skid, their first such streak of the season, when they take on Marquette this Thursday. The Red Storm suffered its first BIG EAST loss of the year last Thursday night at the hands of Xavier before enduring a 1-0 setback to then-No. RV/24 Georgetown on Sunday afternoon at Belson Stadium.
Despite a recent cold streak that has seen the team go two games without a goal, the Red Storm still boasts one of the most well-rounded offensive attacks in the league. The Johnnies are led by graduate student Zsani Kajan, who paces the league in scoring and ranks sixth overall in the nation with 11 goals this season. The Budapest, Hungary, native also leads the conference in overall points with 25, good enough to sit 10th in all of Division I.
Kajan is one of five Johnnies with at least three goals this season. Sophomore Ava Collins and senior Brooke Boyd are tied for second on the team with three scores apiece, while Isabelle Aviza and Samantha Gordon have each found the back of the net twice this season.
Marquette enters Thursday's contest with a record of 7-6-0, including a 3-3-0 mark during conference action. The Golden Eagles are coming off back-to-back setbacks falling to UConn, 3-0, last Thursday before losing, 3-1, to Providence on Sunday. Maggie Starker, who leads Marquette in scoring this season with four goals, recorded the squad's lone goal in Sunday's loss at Providence. The freshman forward ranks 10th in the BIG EAST in scores this season.
Sunday will mark the 17th all-time meeting between the Johnnies and the Golden Eagles and the first since the 2019 campaign.
Following Thursday's contest, St. John's will return to Queens for a Sunday afternoon matchup with Providence. The Johnnies and the Friars are slated to kick off at 1 p.m.
