St. John’s Competes at Princeton Invitational

The Red Storm finishes a hard-fought race against top competition
PRINCETON, N.J.- The St. John's cross country team battled against top competition and finished in 21st place as a team on Saturday at the Princeton Invitational.
For the second straight race, Mia Forster paced the Red Storm as they traversed the course at West Windsor Fields. The graduate transfer from Siena finished with a time of 23:22, good for 57th place overall.
Sophomore Hannah Huleatt finished second on the team for the first time during the fall campaign with a time of 24:36.8.
In her second race of the season, Gabriella Caronia has proven herself to be a valuable addition to the roster, finishing third on the team with a time of 25:48.3.
Tiffany-Ann Matturro and Jenna D'Onofrio rounded out the scoring for the Johnnies on Saturday morning. Matturro finished the 6.17k race with a time of 26:08.7 while D'Onofrio finished with a time of 27:07.7.
Claire Cushing and Katherine Bruno did not compete on Saturday due to injury. Cushing was dealing with heel blisters while Bruno has continued to battle tightness in her calf.
The Red Storm will be off for two weeks before it travels to Carmel, Ind., for the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships on Oct. 29.
