St. John’s to Welcome Connecticut on Sunday

The Johnnies and the Huskies will kick off at 2 p.m.
After falling to Seton Hall, 3-2, in double overtime on Thursday, the St. John's women's soccer team will look to get back in the win column on Sunday afternoon, playing host to Connecticut at 2 p.m. in Queens.
The Johnnies' (5-3-1, 2-3-1 BIG EAST) contest with the Huskies (6-2-1, 4-2-1 BIG EAST) will be available to live stream via the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) with Drew Casey on the call from Belson Stadium.
The Red Storm has been exceptional at home so far this year, sporting a 5-0 record inside the friendly confines of Belson Stadium. On the season, St. John's is outscoring its opponents 13-2 in Queens.
Despite coming out on the losing end of Thursday's contest, the Red Storm outplayed Seton Hall for much of the evening, outshooting the Pirates by a 28-13 margin. Jessica Garziano and Zsani Kajan, who rank first and second on the team in scoring this year, each found the back of the net against the Pirates. Garziano, who ranked third in the BIG EAST in scoring entering Thursday's contest, bumped her season total to six goals. Kajan has tallied four goals this season, increasing her career total to 28. The Budapest, Hungary, native is just one goal shy of tying Lisa Anschlower for fourth on the program's all-time list.
Sunday will mark 25th all-time meeting between the Red Storm and UConn and the second matchup of the season. The Red Storm will look to enact a bit of revenge on the Huskies following a 1-0 UConn victory at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium at Rizza Performance Center on March 11.
The Huskies enter Sunday's contest boasting an overall record of 6-2-1, including a 4-2-1 mark in BIG EAST action. In UConn's most recent game on March 25, junior Isabelle Lynch scored a pair of goals to help lift the Huskies to a 3-0 shutout victory over Villanova.
The trio of Lynch, Yamilee Eveillard and Kess Elmore have each recorded a team-high three goals for the Huskies this season. Randi Palacios has been the primary goalkeeper for UConn this year making 29 saves through nine games. Palacios is boasting a 0.32 goals against average to rank third overall in the BIG EAST.
