St. John's to Compete in the Connecticut Cup on Thursday

The Johnnies will tee off at 12:30 p.m.
Coming off its first team title of the 2021 spring slate, the St. John's men's golf team returns to action on April 1-3 at the Connecticut Cup, hosted by BIG EAST foe UConn.
The 54-hole event will consist of 18 holes over three days at the par-72, 6,936-yard course. The Johnnies will tee off at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday in the opening round.
Sophomore Alex Kyriacou enters this week's tournament as the Red Storm's number one golfer. Kyriacou is coming off a career-best performance at the LuLu Invitational on Saturday. The Suffern, N.Y., native turned in a 67 (-4) at the 18-hole event to capture co-medalist honors.
Juniors Jack Simon and Tyler Gerbavsits are slotted in the second and third positions. Sophomore Ryan Rittberger and junior Joseph Busiello will round out the five-man lineup for the Red Storm.
Rookie Doug Beney will be competing as an individual.
The 11-team field will include host school UConn along with St. John's, Canisius, Hartford, Temple, Boston College, Rider, Iona, Drexel, Fordham and Siena.
Live scoring will be available via GolfStat and all results will be posted to RedStormSports.com at the conclusion of each day.
