Nick Mondak Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Red Storm ace fanned 10 batters on Friday at Butler
After turning in yet another standout performance on the mound this past Friday at Butler, Nick Mondak has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced on Monday by the conference office.
The Watertown, Conn., has now been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll twice this season, as he also found a spot on the five-person list on March 8. Mondak also earned an honor roll nod once during the 2019 season.
Mondak matched a career-high with 10 strikeouts against the Bulldogs, scattering three hits and a walk over 6.0 scoreless innings. The win improved Mondak to 4-3 on the season and lowered his ERA to 1.53, good enough for second in the BIG EAST among qualified starting pitchers.
Mondak, whose ERA has climbed no higher than 2.12 after any one appearance this spring, has allowed only one earned run in his last 22.1 innings pitched. He has struck out 26 batters and allowed only five walks over his last four starts, a span of 24.0 frames.
St. John's will return to action on Thursday when it welcomes Villanova to Jack Kaiser Stadium. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. on ESPN3.
