Gage Wolfle paced St. John’s over the first 18 holes
The St. John's men's golf team saw its second round of action at the Macdonald Cup suspended due to darkness on Saturday evening.
The Red Storm will conclude its final holes of round two on Sunday morning before playing its last 18.
Junior Gage Wolfle led the way for the Red Storm following the first 18 holes. The Sewell, N.J., native drained four birdies to sign off on a round-one 2-over 72.
Senior Tyler Gerbavsits finished two-strokes back of Wolfle, turning in a first-round 74. Gerbavsits' round-one performance was highlighted by an eagle on the par-4 third hole.
Junior Ryan Rittberger and freshman Thomas Stafford each shot a 75 in the opening round.
Senior Jack Simon rounded out scoring for the Red Storm lineup, shooting a 77 over the first 18 holes.
Sophomore Doug Beney, who is competing as an individual, shot a 78 on the afternoon.
