Women’s Golf in Fourth After Day One at Quinnipiac Classic

Karen Beglin is locked in a tie for fourth after 36 holes
WALLINGFORD, Conn. – St. John's women's golf sits in fourth place after the first day of competition at the Quinnipiac Classic.
As a team, the Red Storm shot a combined 620 during Monday's rounds at The Farms Country Club. Sacred Heart leads the tournament after coming into the clubhouse with a 36-hole total of 609.
Karen Beglin paced the Johnnie squad as she shot a 9-over 153 for the first two rounds. The sophomore is currently tied for fourth place. Cloe Clocchiatti finished a stroke behind K. Beglin, to finish logged in a tie for seventh place. The Padua, Italy native tallied four birdies while logging a 154 for the day.
Jessie Kweon signed off on a 156 for her first two rounds to tie for 13th. The Little Neck, N.Y., native tied Clocchiatti with four birdies through 36 holes. Amy Kim followed closely behind Kweon, coming into the clubhouse with a combined 157 to tie for 16th place.
Rounding out the St. John's squad was Jill Beglin as the senior recorded a two-round total of 170. Individually, Angelica Kusnowo carded a 162 to tie for 32nd place.
The Johnnies will tee off beginning at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow. Live scoring will be available via Golfstat and results will be posted to RedStormSports.com at the conclusion of each day.
