Red Storm Set for Lehigh Invitational

Johnnies will look to carry momentum from victory at UConn Invitational
QUEENS, N.Y. – Two weeks after taking home the team title at the UConn Invitational, the St. John's men's golf squad will return to action this weekend at the Lehigh Invitational.

Competition will begin with 18 holes on Friday morning followed by an additional 18 holes on Saturday. Friday's round will begin at 8:30 a.m. while Saturday's session will kick off at 8 a.m. All players will tee of the first hole of the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club, a par-72 track in Bethlehem, Pa., totaling 7,091 yards from the back tees.

In addition to St. John's and the host Mountain Hawks, Binghamton, Bryant, Fairfield, Fordham, Hofstra, Holy Cross, Iona, Monmouth, Lafayette, Rider, Siena, Towson will also be competing.

Two weeks ago at the UConn Invitational, St. John's posted a three-day score of 885 (+21), four shots clear of reigning BIG EAST Champion Seton Hall in second, to claim its first team title since the 2021 Nassau Invitational. Tyler Gerbavsits (+3) and Ryan Rittberger (+4) paced the Red Storm, finishing fifth and sixth, respectively. Brendan Smith came in at +9 to finish in a tie for 18th followed by Jack Simon (+12, T27) and Peicheng Chen (+13, T31).

The Lehigh Invitational will mark the Red Storm's penultimate competition of the fall, as the Johnnies will wrap 2022 at the Nassau Invitational beginning on Monday, Oct. 24, at Nassau Country Club.
