Collins Earns TDS Team of the Week Honorable Mention Nod

QUEENS, N.Y.- Junior midfielder Ava Collins earned an honorable mention distinction on TopDrawerSoccer's National Team of the Week on Wednesday morning.

Collins logged her second assist of the season on Sunday on Isabelle Aviza's game-tying goal against the Connecticut Huskies in the first round of the BIG EAST Championship.

On the season, the Auckland, New Zealand native has three goals along with those two helpers for a total of eight points. Collins is one of three Johnnies to have scored three times and assisted twice this season.

Two of Collins' three goals have been game-winners, which is tied for fifth in the BIG EAST conference. Collins ranks third on the team with 21 shots, and more than half of those attempts have been on target.

Collins and the Red Storm return to the pitch on Thursday afternoon when they take on No. 24 Xavier in the semifinal round of the BIG EAST Championship in Boyds, Md.. Kick-off from the Maryland SoccerPlex is set for 4 p.m. and will air on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
