WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The St. John's men's golf team began its spring slate by going 1-1 at the BIG EAST Match Play Championship at Bear Lakes Country Club on Monday.
Overall, the Johnnies scored four total points, logging 0.5 points in a loss to Seton Hall and 3.5 points during a victory over Butler. As a team, St. John's sits in fourth after the first day of competition, finishing just behind Creighton, who scored 5.5 points.
"We played well today, but we lost a few close matches," said head coach Mal Galletta. "I'm happy with how the team played. We just ran into a tough team in Seton Hall."
