Lacrosse Contest at Siena Moved Up to Friday

Game moved up a day due to inclement winter weather
QUEENS, N.Y.- The St John's lacrosse contest at Siena, that was originally scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m., will be moved to Friday at 3 p.m. due to expected inclement winter weather in the Loudonville, N.Y. area. There will be no stream but live stats will be available via this link.Â
The Red Storm is coming off its first win of the season, after a four-goal spurt in the third quarter that lifted St. John's past Manhattan, 9-7.  Jonathan Huber netted a game-high four goals at DaSilva Memorial Field. The redshirt senior fired in the game-tying and go-ahead goals just 25 seconds apart early in the third quarter.

The Johnnies controlled possession with its best performance at the face-off circle this season. Sophomore Jake Oemcke won 17-of-20 face-offs and scooped 13 groundballs. Kaden Quirk registered a strong outing in goal, notching 11 saves and spearheading a clearing unit that went a perfect 19-for-19.Â

Quirk and Huber were both named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for their performances in the winning effort, the conference announcement on Monday.Â

Siena holds a record of 1-5 with its lone win coming at UMass-Lowell, 14-10, on Feb. 27. The Saints are led by Christian Watts with a team-high 14 goals.Â

In the last meeting between the two schools, St. John's moved past Siena, 16-9 on March 7, 2020. Huber, Dylan Willis and Ricardo Carreras all recorded goals during that victory.Â

Friday afternoon's tilt at Hickey Field will mark the 26th all-time meeting between the two programs. St. John's leads the series 21-4.Â
