QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's lacrosse team continues its road-stint when it takes on RV Dartmouth on Saturday at 1 p.m. The contest will be streamed on ESPN+ and NESN+. Matt Corsetti will have the call from Scully-Fahey Field in Hanover, N.H.
In its last contest on March 11, the Red Storm made a run in the fourth quarter before it ultimately fell at Siena 13-10. After trailing by as much as seven, the Red Storm produced three goals in one minute and 19 seconds to cut the deficit.
Dylan Willis tallied a career-high five points (1 G, 4 A) in the loss at Siena. The senior midfielder garnered a BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll spot for his performance. On the season, Willis has dished out 10 assists. The Baldwin, N.Y., native is averaging 1.67 helpers per contest, which ranks third in the BIG EAST and 41st nationally.
The Red Storm offensive attack has been led by rookie Brian Kelly and veteran Jonathan Huber. A true freshman, Kelly leads the team with 18 points (10 G, 8 A) on the season. The attackman has scored in every game in his collegiate career and currently ranks 10th in the country among all NCAA Division I freshman with 3.0 points per game as of March 14. A redshirt senior, Huber leads St. John's with 14 goals on the year, which ranks eighth in the BIG EAST. The prolific attackman carries a 14-game point streak into Saturday's contest.
Between the pipes, true freshman Kaden Quirk has started all six contests in goal for the Red Storm. The goaltender has logged 55 saves on the year, including 10 or more in each of his last three appearances.
Saturday will mark just the third all-time meeting between the two programs. St. John's leads the all-time series 2-0. The last time the two met was three years ago to the day of Saturday's tilt, March 19, 2019. The Red Storm defeated the Big Green, 15-8, in Queens. Current Johnnie Jonathan Huber registered four goals in that game.
Dartmouth welcomes St. John's on Saturday with a 3-1 record on the year. Following an 8-7 victory over America East preseason favorite Vermont, the Big Green received votes in this past week's Inside Lacrosse media poll.
The Big Green is led by its trusty goalkeeper Daniel Hincks, who is averaging 16 saves per game. The senior is the nation's leader in save percentage with an impressive mark of 66 percent, through games on March 14. In the win over Vermont, Hincks posted a career-high 20 stops between the pipes.
Following Saturday's contest, the Johnnies will prepare for its lone midweek game of the season at Fairfield on Tuesday.
