St. John’s Gears up to Face Boston University

Red Storm will take on the Terriers on Saturday night
QUEENS, N.Y.- The St. John's men's tennis team will face Boston University on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. from the USTA National Tennis Center.
In its last tilt, St. John's (9-2) breezed by Hofstra, 7-0, collecting nine wins as a team on Wednesday morning. Axel Vila Antuna, Ignacio Garcia, Carl Gustavsson, Charlie James, Vlad Vasilache and Giuseppe de Camelis all tallied points in the winning effort.
On Thursday, Vila Antuna and Garcia were tabbed BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week after two strong performances. The pair has held strong for the Johnnies in the no. 1 doubles slot as they have corralled a team-high six wins.
Freshman Gustavsson extended his win streak to seven when he defeated Hofstra's Vincent Turina, 6-2, 6-3. The rookie leads the team with nine singles victories on the year.
Boston University is seeking its first win of the season in Queens on Saturday. The two programs have gone head-to-head in each of the last two seasons. In 2021, the Johnnies blanked the Terriers, 7-0.
After Saturday's contest, the Red Storm will conclude its three-match home stint with LIU on Wednesday.
