St. John’s Prepares for Two-Match Slate Against Queens College and Fordham

Red Storm will face the Knights on Wednesday in Queens and the Rams on Thursday in the Bronx
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's tennis team is set for a two-match slate this week against Queens College on Wednesday and Fordham on Thursday.
First serve against the Knights is scheduled for 3 p.m. at The Courts at St. John's, followed by a 1 p.m. matchup with the Rams at the Hawthorn/Rooney Tennis Courts.
The Red Storm enter the day with momentum after improving to 4-0 in BIG EAST play with a dominant 6-1 victory over Georgetown on Wednesday in College Park, Md. St. John's built a 3-0 lead behind singles wins from Danilo Raicevic and Radomir Tomic before Semen Agynskyy clinched the match in straight sets. The Johnnies added two more singles victories to close out the win.
Queens College comes into the matchup with a perfect 10-0 record in 2026, including a 3-0 mark in ECC play. The Knights most recently defeated Adelphi, 5-2, in Flushing, N.Y.
Queens is led by Lucas Foix Sotos, who holds a 7-3 record in dual match play on the No. 1 court, while Adam Laur has posted an unblemished 6-0 singles record across the No. 1 and No. 2 positions.
The Knights are coming off an impressive 2025 campaign that included an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championship match following an 18-5 regular season. Friday's contest marks the fifth all-time meeting between the programs, with St. John's holding a 4-0 advantage.
Fordham enters Friday's matchup with a 6-12 record and has dropped its last three contests against Dayton, Duquesne and Saint Joseph's. The Rams finished the 2025 season with a 9-9 overall record and advanced to the Atlantic 10 Championship quarterfinals before falling to Davidson, 4-1.
Friday's meeting marks the ninth all-time matchup between St. John's and Fordham since 2012, with the Red Storm undefeated in the series.
Following the two-match week, the Red Storm will be back in action for the regular season finale against Elon on April 13. First-serve from the Tennis Center of Camden will be announced on a later date.
