Red Storm to play in two-day event hosted by LIU

QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's golf team heads to Brookville, N.Y., to play in the Shark Invitational beginning on Monday.

The two-day 54-hole event will take place at Brookville Country Club, a par-71, 6605 yard course. Eight teams will compete for the tournament title including Army West Point, Hartford, Hofstra, La Salle, Manhattan, Southern Illinois, St. John's and host LIU.

The Johnnie lineup will consist of Peicheng Chen, Jack Simon, Tyler Gerbavsits, Gage Wolfle and Ryan Rittberger. Doug Beney, Thomas Stafford and Joseph Busiello will be competing as individuals at the event.

St. John's finished seventh in its last event, the Ross Collegiate Classic, when the team carded an 891. Chen led the way for the Red Storm, shooting a combined 218 to tie for 13th place.
