Men’s Golf Readies for Wildcat Invitational

St. John’s set for final regular-season event
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's golf team prepares for its final regular-season event as the Red Storm travels to Villanova, Pa., for the Wildcat Invitational at Radnor Valley Country Club. The two-day tournament will begin on Monday.
The 15-team field consists of Binghamton, Bucknell, Colgate, Delaware, Lafayette, La Salle, Lehigh, Long Island, Marquette, Rhode Island, Rider, St. Joe's St John's, Villanova and William & Mary. The Johnnies' lineup will include Peicheng Chen, Jack Simon, Tyler Gerbavsits, Gage Wolfle and Ryan Rittberger.
St. John's comes into the event after finishing in a tie for third place at the Shark invitational last week. Chen led the way for the Red Storm as the freshman shot a 73 for the day to finish with a 214 for the event to tie for fourth place. The Beijing native's 11 birdies during the 54-hole event tied for second in the field.
The Johnnies are the reigning champions at the Wildcat Invitational, having won the title in 2021 with a 36-hole total of 573. Simon logged a top-five finish at the event, placing second overall. The Sparta, N.J., native tallied a tournament-best eight birdies over the two rounds.
The 36-hole event on the par-70, 6,572-yard course will begin Monday with the first group teeing off at 8 a.m. Live stats will be available on GolfStat.com
