Jessie Kweon leads the way for the Red Storm after day one

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (Apr. 2, 2022) – The St. John's women's golf team finished in second, after the first round of competition at the Hartford Invitational on Saturday.

The Red Storm shot a combined 305 during the first 18 holes at Wintonbury Hills. The team is just two strokes behind Monmouth, who recorded a combined 303 on the day.

Jessie Kweon led the way for the Johnnies, posting a 75 to tie for second. Angelica Kusnowo and Karen Beglin locked in a tie for fourth place as both golfers carded a 76 for the day.

Cloe Clocchiatti shot a 78 during the opening round, finishing tied for 15^th. Andrea Sanchez tied for 25^th, posting an 81 during the first 18 holes.

Individually, Laia Barro carded an 83 for the day to tie for 30^th place. Amy Kim followed one stroke behind the junior with an 84 to tie for 36^th. Rounding out the Johnnies was Jill Beglin, who shot a 92 to hold sole possession of 49^th.

The Red Storm will be back in action tomorrow with the final round of the tournament. All results will be posted to RedStormSports.com at the conclusion of each day.
