St. John’s Finishes Day One at Hoya Invitational

Red Storm sits in 10th place after 36 holes
ROCKVILLE, Md. (April 9, 2022) – After the first day of competition from Woodmont Country Club, St. John's women's golf team sits in 10th place at the Hoya Invitational.
As a team, the Red Storm shot a combined 638 for the day after carding a 319 in both the first and second rounds. Princeton came into the clubhouse in first place after posting a score of 598 through 36 holes.
Leading the way for St. John's was Karen Beglin as the freshman carded a 158 through the first two rounds to finished locked in a tie for 29th place. The Carson City, Nev., native shot an 83 in her opening round and showed improvements when she posted a 75 for the following round.
Finishing one stroke behind Beglin were Jessie Kweon and Andrea Sanchez. Both golfers posted a 159 for the day to finish tied for 34th place.
Coming into the clubhouse tied for 52nd place was Angelica Kusnowo. The sophomore shot and 81 during both rounds for a 36-hole total of 162. Rounding out the Red Storm squad was Cloe Clocchiatti, who carded a 167 to finish tied for 59th.
The final round from Woodmont Country Club will begin tomorrow at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. Live scoring will be available via GolfStat and all results will be posted to RedStormSports.com at the conclusion of the day.
