Men’s Golf Will Travel to Xavier Invitational

Three-round tournament will be held at Maketewah Country Club
QUEENS, N.Y.- The St. John's men's golf team will travel to the Xavier Invitational to compete in the two-day, three-round event on Oct. 16-17.
The Red Storm will tee off on Monday morning at 9 a.m. at the at Maketewah Country Club in Cincinnati, Ohio. Live results for the event will be available on GolfStat.
The Johnnies line-up will include- Peicheng Chen, Thomas Finn, David Mlynek, Ryan Rittberger and Erik Stevens.
Last time out, the Johnnies finished seventh out of 13 teams at the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse. Finn finished third overall. The freshman held the lead for the majority of the third round and ended the tournament at 1-over, 216, to finish inside the top-3, the highest of his young collegiate career. Over the three days, the rookie tallied seven birdies.
Just this week, the rookie qualified for the 2024 U.S. Four-Ball Amateur Championship, which will be held in May in Philadelphia.
2023 All-BIG EAST First Team selection Peicheng Chen shot 2-under in the final round at GreatHorse and tallied a top-10 finish at the MacDonald Cup on Sept. 23-24.
The Xavier Invitational marks the final event of the fall season for the Red Storm as it will hit the course again in February 2024.
