St. John’s Finishes in Fifth at Xavier Invitational

Four Red Storm players finished inside the top-30 in Cincinnati
CINCINNATI, Ohio- St. John's men's golf wrapped up competition at the Xavier Invitational on Tuesday tallying a fifth-place finish.
Over three rounds, the Johnnies recorded a 43-over, 883, to record a top-five finish at Maketewah Country Club.
Four Red Storm players- Thomas Finn, Peicheng Chen, Ryan Rittberger and Erik Stevens finished inside the top-30 in Cincinnati.
For the second-consecutive tournament, Finn registered a team-best finish coming in 23rd place at 9-over, 219. The freshman shot a personal event low 1-over, 71, on Tuesday logging two birdies over the final five holes.
Chen had the best round by a Red Storm player in the opening 18 holes in Ohio, shooting a 1-under 69 on Monday morning. Overall, the junior placed tied for 24th and shot a 10-over, 220, flushing a team-high seven birdies.
Erik Stevens and Ryan Rittberger finished out tied 30th overall carding a 12-over, 222. Both veterans fired a 3-over, 73 on Tuesday at the Xavier Invitational.
St. John's has wrapped up its fall slate and will be back in action in 2024.
