Women’s golf will compete in final competition of its fall slate
QUEENS, N.Y.- The St. John's women's golf team will prepare for its final event of the 2023 fall slate at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational this weekend.
The Red Storm will participate in the three-round, 54-hole competition at Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Delaware.
Rehoboth is an ocean-side track that plays 6,169-yards and is a par-72. St. John's is one of 11 participating schools- Columbia, the hosts Delaware, Delaware State, Harvard, Navy, Penn, Quinnipiac, Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. Johns, William and Mary.
The Johnnies line-up will feature- Xuan Khue Minh Doan, Angelica Kusnowo, Cloe Clocchiatti, Laia Barro and Amy Kim. Karen Beglin is slated to compete as an individual.
In the team's last outing, the Johnnies placed fifth at the Quinnipiac Invitational on Oct. 9-10. The Red Storm carded a 74-over to notch a top-five finish at Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn.
Newcomer Minh Doan has led the team in all three events so far and tallied a season-best finish placing sixth overall at the Quinnipiac Classic. The Wofford transfer shot 11-over during the 54 holes at Farms Country Club. On the year, the sophomore has recorded a 75.4 stroke average.
This marks the third straight-season that the Red Storm will play in the Lady Blue Hen Invitational. The squad placed 11th in last year's event and eighth in 2021.
