Four Women’s Soccer Players Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Aviza, Garziano, Tran and Turner recognized for academic and athletic success
QUEENS, N.Y.– Four St. John's women's soccer players were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Isabelle Aviza, Jessica Garziano, Lauryn Tran and Katherine Turner were recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom and on the pitch.
All four players hold a GPA of 3.5 or higher and played a significant role during a 10-6-3 campaign for the Johnnies.
Garziano became the first player to ever record double-digit goals and assists in a single-season finishing with 10 goals and 11 helpers (31 points). The graduate student was named BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year and was just the third player to ever receive all-league recognition after unanimously being voted to the first team.
Tran emerged during her junior campaign after not recording a point during her first two season in Queens. The speedy winger ranked second on the team with 14 points (four goals and six assists). The Calgary native holds a perfect 4.0 GPA while majoring in biomedical sciences.
Turner continued to be a staple at center back for Ian Stone as she wrapped uo her Red Storm career starting all 90 possible games. The London, England native logged over 8,000 minutes for the Johnnies and was twice named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team.
Aviza was a jack-of-all-trades for St. John's playing multiple positions throughout the year. The graduate student started 17 of her 18 appearances and added one goal and two assists during her final season in Queens.
