St. John’s Finishes in 13th at Spring Break Shootout

Cloe Clocchiatti records a team-best 30th place finish
DADE CITY, Fla.— The St. John's women's golf team concluded its third and final round at the Spring Break Shootout on Tuesday, finishing in 13th place.
The Red Storm tallied a total score of 72-over par to take 13th in the field of 16 teams competing at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club. Western Kentucky captured the team title with a score of 10-over par.
Cloe Clocchiatti posted the best tournament mark over the three rounds in Dade City, Fla., After an opening round 1-over par, 72, the senior stayed consistent shooting a 4-over, 76 and 5-over, 77, in the next two rounds to stamp herself as the team's top finish in 30th place.
Karen Beglin finished second on the team with a 54-hole mark of 17-over par. After an opening round 10-over, 81, the Carson City, Nev., native dialed in over her closing two rounds carding a 4-over, 75 and 3-over, 74, to close out the tournament to place tied for 51st.
Amy Kim checked in next for the Red Storm, logging a 59th place finish and shooting 20-over par. Jessie Kweon finished tied for 70th and Jill Beglin came in 88th to round out the Red Storm line-up.
Laia Barro, who competed for the Johnnies as an individual, finished in a deadlock for 74th with a 24-over par score for the tournament.
The Red Storm will return to competition on March 27-28, when it partakes in the Kingsmill Invitational hosted by William & Mary.
