Red Storm will welcome 10 teams to Saint Andrew’s Golf Club
QUEENS, N.Y. (April 8, 2023)- The women's golf team will host its home event, the St. John's Invitational on April 10-11 at Saint Andrew's Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson N.Y.
The two round, 36-hole event will begin with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. on Monday and the following day 9:30 a.m. Live results will be available on GolfStat.
There are 11 teams competing at Saint Andrew's Golf Club- Bucknell, Columbia, Fairfield, Hartford, Holy Cross, Quinnipiac, Seton Hall, Siena, St. John's, UAlbany and Wagner.
The Red Storm will host its own event for the first time since Oct. 25-26, 2021, when the Johnnies were in fifth before the second day was canceled due to weather conditions.
In its last appearance, St. John's finished sixth out of 19 schools at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate on March 27-28. Graduate student Jessie Kweon posted the brightest performance for the Red Storm finishing tied for second out 107 golfers in Williamsburg, Va. The Little Neck, N.Y., native shot 7-over par throughout the 54 holes at the River Course at the Kingsmill Resort.
Cloe Clocchiatti is in the middle of a strong senior campaign. The veteran has tallied a top-30 finish in four of her last five events. At the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, the Padua, Italy native came in 28th good for second on the team.
The duo will be joined by Angelica Kusnowo, Laia Barro and Karen Beglin in the Red Storm line-up. Jill Beglin and Amy Kimwill play as individuals.
The Johnnies' home event serves at their final tune-up before the BIG EAST Championships at the Riverton Pointe Golf Club in Hardeeville, S.C. on April 17-19.
