Jack Simon Finishes up Day Two at NCAA Regionals

BATH, Mich.- St. John's men's golfer Jack Simon wrapped up his second of three rounds at NCAA Regionals on Tuesday carding a 4-over, 75.
For the tournament, the Johnnie currently sits in 70th place at 10-over, 152, with 18 holes remaining at Eagle Eye Golf Club in Michigan.
Georgia's Ben Van Wyk leads all competitors after carding a cumulative score of 9-under through 36 holes. The Bulldogs are in a commanding 10-stroke lead in the team competition at 28-under.
After logging a 6-over, 77, on Monday, Simon opened his second round of play this morning making par on his first eight holes and began to creep up the leaderboard. He registered his first bogey of the day on the par-4 ninth hole to finish with a 1-over, 36, on the front nine.
On the back nine, Simon made par of two of his first four holes on the latter of the track before recording a birdie on a lengthy par-5. The Sparta N.J., native then tallied two-straight pars on holes 15-16 before a double bogey set him back to 3-over on the round. The veteran made par on the 18th hole to enter the clubhouse with a 4-over, 75, for his middle round score.
