Bradley logged an impressive 23-under en route to his sixth-career PGA Tour victory
CROMWELL, Conn. (June 25, 2023) – St. John's men's golf alumnus Keegan Bradley won the 2023 Travelers Championship on the PGA Tour on Sunday afternoon.
The former Johnnie carded an impressive 23-under, 257, over four rounds at TPC River Highlands to tally his second victory on the tour this season.
Bradley started off hot in the opening round on Thursday making birdie on his first five holes and posting an 8-under, 62, on the par-70 track in Cromwell, Conn., but trailed Denny McCarthy by two strokes after he recorded a 10-under, 60, tying for the lowest round by a player on the tour this season.
On Friday, Bradley followed it up with another impeccable round, firing a 7-under, 63, to share the lead at the halfway point with McCarthy at 15-under. The New England native became just the second player to open an event with two rounds of 63 or better this season.
During the third round, the longtime professional tallied a bogey-free 18 holes, shooting a 6-under, 64. Bradley recorded an all-time personal best three-round score of 189, which sat just one stroke shy of the PGA Tour record.
On the final 18, Bradley continued his dominant run at the Travelers, leading by as many as five strokes and ultimately took the title by three shots over Zac Blair and Brian Harman, who finished at 20-under. Sunday's victory marked the sixth career PGA Tour victory for the 2011 PGA Champion and the second of the 2022-23 campaign, after winning the ZOZO Championship last October.
In total, the St. John's graduate made 27 birdies and just four bogeys over four rounds at TPC River Highlands.
Bradley starred for the Johnnies under Head Coach Frank Darby from 2004-08, totaling nine individual victories during his career, which ranks second-best in program history. The Woodstock, Vt., native finished no lower than ninth at the BIG EAST Championship and earned an at-large bid to NCAA Regionals during his senior year. In 2020, Bradley was enshrined into the St. John's Athletics Hall of Fame.
