Red Storm set school record for number of student-athletes honored for the second consecutive year
QUEENS, N.Y. – A school-record 246 St John's student-athletes have been named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team for the 2022-23 school year, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
This marks the second consecutive year and third time in the past four years the Red Storm has set a new program high for BIG EAST All-Academic selections, breaking the high mark of 234 Johnnies set last year.
Nominations for the All-Academic Team are submitted by each of the BIG EAST's 11 member schools and five affiliate institutions. To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must have competed in a BIG EAST-sponsored sport, attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semesters or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses.
