St. John’s Places Seventh at Red Bandanna Invitational

Xuan Khue Minh Doan tallied a top-15 finish at Blue Hill Country Club
CANTON Mass. – The St. John's women's golf team placed seventh out of 17 teams at a rainy Red Bandanna Invitational, as play wrapped up on Tuesday.
The Red Storm's finish marked the program's highest-ever at Boston College's home event. The Johnnies shot 72-over, 936, throughout three rounds of play at Blue Hill Country Club.
Boston College took home the team title with a team score of 29-over, 897, at its annual home tournament.
Xuan Khue Minh Doan led the team with a 15th place finish behind an impressive final round. The Hanoi, Vietnam native shot a 1-over, 73, on Tuesday marking a tournament-low for the Johnnies. The sophomore tallied four birdies over her final 18 holes, including three on the back-nine.
Minh Doan played particularly well on the par-5's posting a 4.92 stroke average, which tied for fifth-best amongst the field.
Karen Beglin concluded the event inside the top-30 in a 90-player field. The junior rounded out the tournament with an 18-over, 234.
Angelica Kusnowo flushed six birdies putt on the opening day of competition and finished the invitational with a 21-over, 237, placing her tied for 40th and third on the team.
The women's golf squad will be back in action at the Quinnipiac Classic on Oct. 9-10 in Wallingford, Conn.
